Kelly Noel took this week’s Blueprint inspiration to a whole new level with her gorgeous layout!

Kelly: When I first saw the inspiration piece, I thought “Wow, that’s so pretty!” and then I panicked a bit wondering if I could pull it off since I have all boys and I don’t get to scrap “pretty” very often. I didn’t have any great photos to use of my boys, so I used a photo from a girly photo session I did last summer.
I used the Silhouette feather cut files to cut the same feather in three different sizes. I knew I wanted to use watercolors to dress them up, so I cut them out in watercolor paper so that they would take the watercolors better. Then I used a waterbrush and some watercolor paints to paint each feather a different color. Once they were dry, I stapled them together at the stems and tucked them underneath my photo. I added some of the gold glitter candy buttons (my new fave!) to embellish the center of each feather and I love the detail it added.
