BasicGrey Guest Designer : Nichol Magouirk

Each month, we plan on bringing you a guest designer to wow you.  To knock your socks off with the way they put BasicGrey to work on their projects.  That’s not setting the bar high, right?

We’d like to welcome and introduce you to Nichol Magouirk as our guest designer for October 2011.

Nichol Magouirk, a 2003 Creating Keepsakes Hall of Famer and 2004 BHG Scrapbooks, Etc. Creative Team member, has been scrapbooking and stamping for thirteen years. During that time, Nichol has been published in many different scrapbooking publications and idea books and has contributed to several manufacturer’s design teams.  Nichol also regularly updates her blog with new projects and how-to videos. She is passionate about scrapbooking and card making and hardly a day goes by where she doesn’t create something. Nichol’s favorite techniques are die cutting and stamping.  She resides in Kansas with her husband of fourteen years, Chad, and their three children, Brenden (11), Payton (10) and Ethan (5).

SUPPLIES: [PICADILLY] C-PIC-3530 Collection Pack, PIC-3532 Element Stickers, PIC-3533 Alpha Stickers, PIC-3543 Layered Stickers, PIC-3541 Designer Chipboard Stickers. [OTHER] Studio Calico Mister Huey Mists (Dewey, Pony, Classic Calico), Silhouette America Shapes (Picnic Table, Tablecloth, Grass, Sign), Kerri Bradford Studios (Fence, Tree, Photo Collage), Scallop Punch.

We love the two projects Nichol created with our new Picadilly collection.  In her layout, she created a scene on to top portion of her layout which not only provides an amazing place for embellishments but also space for journaling.  She balanced what could be a top-heavy design by placing a block of photos directly underneath.  Nichol then used leftovers from her layout to create a fantastic card that is sure to brighten the lucky recipient’s day!

Nichol is known for her amazing videos and we’re thrilled that she took the time to make one for us featuring her two Picadilly projects.

Thanks, Nicol for sharing your time and talents with us – we’re thrilled to having you joining us this month on the BG blog!
