Weekly Challenge : Use Patterned Paper As Your Layout Background

THIS WEEK’S CHALLENGE : Use patterned paper as the background of your layout.  Easy, right?  Dress it up, dress it down – just make sure it’s the base of your page.

This week, I’ve asked BasicGrey design team member Larissa Albernaz to participate in our challenge.

Larissa says, “I created my layout by mixing a lot of different and inspiring patterns from the Oxford collection. This collection had the perfect color scheme I wanted to use to portray an adorable moment when my daughter was playing at the park.”

Here is a layout I just finished. The main background is textured as well as the 4 mini backgrounds. I love the dark texture behind the lighter busier papers. I decided to keep it simple without additional embellishment as there was already so much going on.

  1. I would love to use more pattern paper but my eye does not go to the photos………I’m jumping around looking at everything else. I do love the l.o., but a little too much going on for me.

  2. Hopefully this works! My comments never show up right away, and one time I tried again and it double posted, and last time I waited and it never showed up! Oh well! Still fun to try!

  5. Did I mention that I love Basic Grey? I think I mention it several times on my blog, and have done several layouts with their patterned paper as the background…. But this is one of my favorites!
