Have you ever seen a crafting product that you liked so much you wanted to wear?? This is what happened to me when I saw the stitched brads from the Facts and Fiction line. I figured the easiest way to accomplish this was to turn it into a quick hair accessory.
And it was so easy that I decided to make a bunch for little Valentines!
To make the bobby pins, you’ll need the stitched brads, bobby pins from the craft store that have a circle plate for adding embellishments, wire cutters, Gorilla Super Glue, and optionally nail polish. To make the Valentine, you will need patterned paper from the Facts and Fiction line, included PDF printed onto cream cardstock, scissors, and adhesive foam squares.
If desired, paint your bobby pins with nail polish for easy color and set aside to dry fully.
Cut off the prongs from the back of stitched brads with wire cutters. Push in any part of the prong left after cutting into the center hole using the tip of the wire cutters so the back is flat.
Add Gorilla Super Glue to the circle plate on the bobby pin and place centered onto back of brad. Hold for 20 seconds to set and then set aside to dry fully. This Gorilla Super Glue works well for metal to metal adhesion and dries quickly; I love it!
Print out the Valentine printable here : BasicGrey Bobby Pin Valentines.
These are super simple and you can certainly spend time making something more elaborate. But it’s here if you need it.
Print onto cream cardstock and cut out with scissors just inside the solid lines so they don’t show.
Cut out 2.25 x 3.25 inch rectangles of coordinating patterned paper. Align Valentines centered onto patterned paper to cut out triangle from bottom if desired.
Slide finished bobby pin onto Valentine and place adhesive foam squares onto back as shown to adhere to patterned paper piece.
Adhere the to/from side of Valentine onto back of patterned paper using your favorite adhesive to complete.
Make them to give or stockpile them for yourself. It’s fun to use your crafting supplies to embellish yourself for a change.
So cute I had to “PIN” it! Now I just need something for the boys in my daughters’ classes…
