BasicGrey Altered : Valentine’s Paper Bag Mini Album

BasicGrey Altered Art

I absolutely love making paper bag mini albums. They are super easy to make and so much fun! I decided to use True Love to make a Valentine’s Day mini album for my girls. This line is perfect for any type of love theme! I created several pages for photos and some specifically for journaling.

I started with four paper lunch bags and then punched three holes along the edges for the jump rings. Then the fun starts! I used the Basic Grey True Love 6×6 paper pad (which is super handy for these types of albums!)

For the front of the album I layered two sheets of patterned paper and then stitched the top sheet to the second layer.   I love to layer up my embellishments and that is is exactly what I did for the cover of my album.  I took three chipboard pieces and layered them one on top of the other. For the arrow I attached it with foam adhesive to give it some extra dimension.  I love the added texture of layered pieces!

The inside of the album is my favorite part – I love the smaller format – the possibilities are endless!  I typically layer my patterned paper throughout my albums and that is just what I did here.  In fact, I even used some of the Basic Grey packaging for my patterned paper!  For some of the pages I rounded the corners, and for others I left them square.  Again I used lots of layers for each page.  I love doilies and so I used them as one of my main embellishments throughout the entire album.  I trimmed the edges from some and for other pages I left them whole.  I also used the spare pieces of patterned paper and punched the little tabs out for documenting the date, etc. on.  I attached the little tabs on my journaling sheets and then tucked them into the glassine envelopes (makes it easier to pull out the journaling!)  I used lots of foam adhesive, again, for extra dimension.  This also helps to make the album nice and chunky!  There are lots of fun ways to embellish these little albums and to make them uniquely yours!

After completing the inside of the album simply slide in the jump rings!  I attached a small piece of ribbon to the top jump ring of mine.

Here is my finished album:

I hope you enjoyed my little tutorial on the paper bag mini album! Thanks so much for stopping in and taking a peek!
