Here is a set of 3-dimensional paper numbers that would make fun décor on New Year’s Eve! You could also reproduce the numbers in school colors for a graduation party this coming year (or for a birthday party if the numbers happen to work for you, ha!).

All you will need to create your own set is four sheets of patterned cardstock, paper trimmer, scissors, scoring tool (scoring blade, bone folder with ruler, etc.), extra strength glue stick (or your favorite adhesive), and a computer and printer. I chose the Facts and Fiction line of papers for their fun and energetic patterns and colors! Be sure the back of your papers do not have a super dark or busy design so you will be able to see the template once printed. I like to use a glue stick for these sorts of projects because it gives me a little time to move things around and dries securely.

So here is how to make your own!

1. Trim your patterned cardstock to 8.5 x 11 inches for printer.

2. Print out the following number templates on the BACK side of trimmed papers.

3. Cut out template pieces on all solid lines.

4. Score and crease template pieces on all dotted lines.

5. Before applying any adhesive, place one of your scored strips (the number 1 only has one strip) around the number to make sure all score marks are creased the right way as they make their way around the number’s perimeter. Be sure to line up the A and B strips with the corresponding “start” marking to have everything align.

6. Next, apply adhesive all over the backside of the number template only on the side with the start markings and place your strip around the perimeter beginning at the designated start mark. Work it around slowly to ensure all of the edges align.

7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 with the second scored strip.

8. Apply adhesive all over the backside of the other half of the number template and fold over to complete number, aligning with the other side. Work your way around the number slowly to be sure all edges align.

Once dry, you’re done! Set out for dimensional party décor and have a great 2013!

Thanks so much for the templates! I put them together last night to decorate the mantel with some new subway art as well. Happy New Year!

I totally love these numbers!!!! Made them today and they fab- is there any chance you could give us numbers 4 -9? Please!!! :) Would be awesome for birthdays!! :D

I too would like the rest of the numbers!! Great idea! Please!

I’m sure liking these numbers, 3-d is great. Wish we could get all the number templates thru 9 if that were possible? Pretty please? Thanks for these. This project sure invites everybody to keep working on further projects.

Wow, I, too, would like to have the other numbers, or at least the four.

Hi there! Was hoping to make these for this year but you only have 2,0,1,3 templates. Do you have one for a 4? :)

I think these would be a hit for my grads party, but I need number 4, please. Better yet, can I get all the numbers for future New Years decorations?

I do think we have to view it in a way that the inspiration of the house creating has to be sufficiently strong enough to protect us.

Hi. I’d like to know if you have the rest of the numbers? Thought of using it for wedding decor.

Hello,
