We’re kicking off the week with a new two page scrapbook sketch from BasicGrey sketch artist Susan Stringfellow. Have multiple photos you want to document on a layout? This sketch makes it easy!
September Fair | Els Brige
BasicGrey scrapbook designer Els Brige was the first to use this week’s sketch as the starting point for her project. Els says, “I pretty much stuck to the sketch here for my layout and turned to the Soleil collection to scrap some sunny pictures. I followed the color scheme of my pictures, but chose to go for lighter shades of the colors here and there, to tone everything down a bit. The arrows lead your eye around the page, the red transparent one was simply made the go around the journaling. I used the die-cut flowers to add some accents onto the page. Since there are so many of these flowers in the package, you can combine however you like and always build a perfect matching accent for your project.”
First Day | Kelly Noel
BG scrapbook designer Kelly Noel also used this week’s sketch to create this layout. Kelly notes, “I loved this two-page sketch. I tend to avoid 2-pagers, because they aren’t my strong suit, BUT I love having a sketch to go from. It really makes creating two-pagers so much easier! I kept to the sketch pretty closely. I didn’t have 5 photos, so ended up taking one of the photos out, but kept the same general layout for my 4 photos. My title is a bit smaller than the one in the sketch, but I mounted in onto a piece from the Clippings Snippet pad and that made it a little more substantial. Instead of using arrows in the corners like the sketch, I used small pieces of the Clippings Garland to add detail to those two corners. The Novella paper and Flannel Suit paper made this layout go amazingly fast. I love the Clippings collection papers for that reason…they are so detailed and already look layered, which makes creating layouts with them really simple.”
Now it’s your turn! We’d love to see what you create from this week’s sketch. Leave a comment below with a link to your project and we’ll select one comment at random to receive a $10 credit to shop at basicgrey.com. Comment must be posted by October 28, 2012 at 11:59p MST.
We’re making the push to 19,000 Facebook Likes! Help us get there and you could be one of TWO lucky winners to receive a box from the BG warehouse with contents valued at $100+!

Gorgeous layout, Els! Your kiddos are darling!
Love the two page sketches! This is a good one with the circles balancing the squares and the arrows can be used for a lot of things: vacation, growing up, going to school, graduating, getting past something, etc.
