Happy Monday! We’re back with a new sketch from BasicGrey sketch artist Susan Stringfellow to kick start your creativity this week. We hope it inspires you to get out your favorite BG product and get to work!
Man | Kathleen Summers
BasicGrey digital designer Kathleen Summers was the first to take a turn with this week’s sketch. She says, “This sketch is great for layering fun patterned papers. I love the mix of Boxer papers underneath the photo that coordinate with the grass and the football jersey. As for the title… well, I just can’t believe how quickly my son is growing into a man!”
Tutu Cute | Becca Dickson
Becca Dickson, also a BG digital designer, used this week’s sketch to create this vibrant layout about her daughter. Becca notes, “For this sketch, I used the Lollipop Collection. I liked the challenge that this sketch brought – use a 4×6 photo! I’ve gotten used to a square format recently so it was nice to step out of the box. I liked the stacked rectangles around the photo as well as the banner and decided to use bright colors to highlight my photo even more. I’m more of a minimal scrapper, so I didn’t use as many elements as the sketch called for – just a few along the edges. The shades of pink were great to match my daughter’s tutu in the photo.”
Now it’s your turn! We’d love to see what you create from this week’s sketch. Leave a comment below with a link to your project and we’ll select one comment at random to receive a $10 credit to shop at basicgrey.com. Comment must be posted by September 23, 2012 at 11:59p MST.
