This week we’re featuring a sketch from BasicGrey sketch artist Valerie Salmon. This sketch is perfect for two standard sized photos that might need a bit of cropping. Or perhaps this is a great opportunity to take some of those older smaller sized photos you might have in a shoebox and put them on a layout? Whatever you choose, we hope you’ll share your completed layout!
Friends | Jessy Christopher
BG design team member Jessy Christopher chose to pair our Paper Cottage collection with this week’s sketch. She notes, ”I really love the sketch and therefore kept it very close to the sketch. The Paper Cottage was so simple to work it and the colors are amazing to go with the photos.”
Princess at Play | Kathleen Summers
Digital design team member Kathleen Summers also chose to stay close to the integrity of the original sketch. Kathleen explains, “I really liked the sketch and the fun shapes, so I stuck to it pretty closely. While I didn’t use pinwheels, I liked the embellishment cluster idea and used clouds, flowers, hearts, etc for my embellishment groupings. This whimsical sketch was perfect for a page about my young daughter at play.”
Now it’s your turn! We’d love to see what you create from this week’s sketch. Leave a comment below with a link to your project and we’ll select one comment at random to receive a $10 credit to shop at basicgrey.com. Comment must be posted by August 26, 2012 at 11:59p MST.

Say, how old are the Oh, Baby! Boy & Girl collections? 2006? Or so? Nevertheless. Pulled out these papers & had to use this sketch :) http://aniia.blogspot.no/2012/08/oh-baby.html
This really worked for these race photos. I used a combination of Clippings and PBandJ.

I really enjoyed working with this sketch.
What a wonderful sketch this was to work with. Perfect for these pictures I had of my oldest granddaughter playing with her Fisher Price toys. I used the PB & J collection for my papers, alphas and banners. Here’s the link to my layout:
