This week’s sketch sketch from BasicGrey sketch artist Susan Stringfellow is designed as a single page layout showcasing two standard sized photos. You have a few of those hanging around, right?
Feel free to use this sketch as is, rotate it, flip it – whatever you’d like!
Jumping J | Nicole Samuels
BasicGrey design team member Nicole Samuels used this week’s sketch to highlight a single favorite photo. Nicole explains, “I decided to follow the sketch pretty closely, but instead of using two photos I opted for just one vertical 4×6. The little chipboard rectangles were an easy border to match the one on the sketch. I love that they make it look like I cut out a bunch of different patterns, but really I just peeled and stuck them down!”
Expecting | Mary Rogers
Digital design team member Mary Rogers also used this week’s sketch to create her layout. Mary notes, “I love sketches that use traditional 4×6 photos and was delighted to see two! My niece is expecting her first baby this month and we were so excited to take some maternity shots for her. Because we know she is having a baby girl, I wanted to use one of the more girly kits available. After much debate with myself, I decided on the Phresh & Phunky Collection. The vibrant greens of the background, muted pinks and fun patterns were the perfect choice. My photos really were the focus of the layout, using the BasicGrey Digital collections really helps them shine.”

Love this sketch, love my LO. I’m almost out of Oxford now so that’s kind of sad.
