Sew What : Patchwork Christmas Stockings

I am here today to share a pattern for a simple patchwork Christmas stocking. If a new baby has joined your family this past year, wouldn’t a stocking for his/her first Christmas be a great gift? This is such a timeless design that the child isn’t likely to outgrow it. I’ve used 2 1/2″ squares of Blitzen to create a fully lined patchwork stocking with fold over cuff. The finished stocking measures 11″ wide and 16″ high.

One of my favorite details is the candy caned twill hanger fastened with a Basic Grey Essential Button.

Download the PDF file for complete directions and pattern pieces. Before you know it, your stocking will be ready to hang on the mantle for Santa to stuff!

“Falling in love is not at all the most dumb thing that people do — but gravitation cannot be held responsible for it.”

“The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious. It is the fundamental emotion that stands at the cradle of true art and true science.”

“Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of worth”
