National Scrapbooking Day 2012 : Shape Challenge

Happy Day | Jessy Christopher

CHALLENGE : Create a layout that includes a shape other than a square or rectangle.

Looking to create something trendy but yet a bit away from the norm for National Scrapbooking Day?  This challenge is for you!

BasicGrey design team member Jessy Christopher created the fantastic layout above.  She explains, ”Shapes are such a trend these days. This time, I wanted to focus on triangles. I used the Silhouette Cameo to cut out the triangles and layered it with another patterned paper at the back. The cut-out triangles I decided to use them as well to create dimension. To further enhance the focus on the triangles, I drew lines and also sew the borders of the triangles. The Konnichiwa collection has bold colors and it’s perfect to use on clean & simple layouts.”

We can’t wait to see what you create for this challenge! Leave a comment below with a link to your project and we’ll select one commenter at random to receive a $25 gift certificate to shop at basicgrey.comComment must be posted by May 11, 2012 at 11:59p MST.

If you upload your layout to your blog or online gallery, be sure to also upload it to our new BasicGrey flickr page so that other BG fans can find your work easily.

Such a cute layout, Jessy! I used all kinds of non-rectangle/square shapes, primarily focusing on my chevron block.

  1. I am really impressed with your writing skills as well as with the layout on your weblog.
Is this a paid theme or did you customize it yourself? Anyway keep up the nice quality writing, it’s rare
to see a nice blog like this one today.

  2. Howdy would you mind letting me know which web host you’re working with?

I’ve loaded your blog in 3 different web browsers and I must say this blog loads a lot quicker
then most. Can you suggest a good internet hosting provider at a fair price?
    Thank you, I appreciate it!

  3. Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of this site. It’s
simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very difficult to get that “perfect balance” between usability and appearance.

I must say you have done a amazing job with this.
Additionally, the blog loads very fast for me on Opera.
    Superb Blog!

  4. Excellent post. I was checking constantly this blog and I
am impressed! Extremely useful information particularly the last part :
) I care for such information much. I was looking for this particular info for
a very long time. Thank you and good luck.
