Ever since I first had this gorgeous collection in hands, I was waiting for a chance to make a layout on this fabulous rich cream solid paper. And this time was the right time, I thought. The cream color, along with the touches of pink, made the picture stand out onto the page. I added some brown and a bit of that washed out green to bring some more variation in the color scheme.

I often love to cut some strips of patterned papers in various widths and lengths to make a background for my layout. I usually stack them underneath my photo in an un-orderly way and run it through my sewing machine to secure it all.

In the upper left corner there is a cluster of embellishments to complete the visual triangle. I was aiming for a look as if the embellishments were thrown down across the page. I used a lot of the smaller chipboard pieces, almost like confetti onto my page.

While I had all my supplies out on my crafting table, I also made this cute garland for my girls’ room. To start out, I made seven accordion flowers, three bigger ones and four smaller ones. Then I die-cutted and punches circles, pinking circles, hearts and butterflies and layered them onto the accordions. I alternated the pinks with green and brown elements.

In between the accordion flowers, I used some chipboard pieces and some of the canvas and paper die-cuts. Both packages have some fun banners, tags and flags in them, which were perfect for this project.
