Another Monday, means another sketch!  This week’s sketch is based on this layout from BasicGrey design team member Georgia Keays using our recently released Kissing Booth collection.

Georgia notes, “The inspiration for this layout came from my photo.  To others it probably doesn’t appear to be the nicest picture of Lucy but it captures the particular look she gets when she’s deep in thought perfectly. The background of my photo is quite neutral which meant I could use a very busy paper without my photo being swamped.  I absolutely love bold florals so I was drawn to the Dozen Roses paper immediately and added a couple of plain colour papers, again not to clash with the print. In the same way, I chose to use the large flower from the elements sticker sheet as the focus of my embellishment cluster and add just a few other little touches.”

This week’s sketch features two photos with plenty of space dedicated to journaling and embellishments.  Want to make our sketch your own?  Please do!  Feel free to rotate it, flip it, use it for a card or another project – whatever you wish!

We’d love to see what you create from this week’s sketch. Leave a comment below with a link to your project and we’ll select one commenter at random to receive a collection pack of your choice. Comment must be posted by February 12, 2012 at 11:59p MST.

If you upload your layout to your blog or online gallery, be sure to also upload it to our BasicGrey flickr pool so that other BG fans can find your work easily.

  1. Beautiful layout and yes, I can see the gears in your
daughter’s brain working. She does have that look
of deep thought. Guess it is a thing mother’s see.
    Beautiful layout and beautiful daughter.

  2. I’ve just linked up my blog post for my layout using this sketch – I really enjoyed it and I particularly liked the different patterned paper line on the left – really cool detail! Thanks for the inspiration! :D
