For those of you who love creating two page layouts, this sketch is for you!  This week’s sketch is based on this layout by BasicGrey digital design team member Kathleen Summers.

Kathleen explains, “This is such a versatile design for multi-photo two-page layouts. I used designs like this even as a paper scrapper. You can create 8×10 photo grids in photo-editing software which allows you to easily size, crop, and place your photos in a way that looks best. Then have your local developer print them if you don’t print your photos at home. I used this trick a lot!”

As always, we ask that you create a layout based on your own personal style and simply be inspired by the sketches we provide.  Don’t have a lot of photos handy for a two page layout?  Or maybe you’d rather create a single page project?  No worries!  Simply use either single page sketch for your layout!

Instead of creating a two page layout, I was inspired by the tight photo placement of Kathleen’s project and created a single page layout using our latest collection, Kissing Booth.  I kept the layout linear in design and also placed border elements along the left side as she did.  To create more depth to my layout, I used dimensional adhesive for two of the sticker elements.

We’d love to see what you create from this week’s sketch. Leave a comment below with a link to your project and we’ll select one commenter at random to receive a collection pack of your choice. Comment must be posted by February 5, 2012 at 11:59p MST.

If you upload your layout to your blog or online gallery, be sure to also upload it to ourBasicGrey flickr pool so that other BG fans can find your work easily.

  1. Love love love the 2-page sketches. I always have a ton of photos from my events, and never ever ever do a 1 page layout with 1 photo. (Who needs sketches to get one photo on one page, I don’t get it)

  2. Fantastic layouts. Love this style and the ability to use more photos. This design would be great fun for my family reunion album chronicling the games, kids, and dinners that I have to do. Can’t wait to try this layout. Thanks

  3. Love this double page sketch!! Great way to use several photos! Actually I love making two-page layout, so I should try with this sketch!! Thanks for the inspiration!!

  4. I have found that a great place to start with digital scrapbooking is to experience success right away. Using premade pages can help boost confidence and ignite excitement for this fabulous hobby.

My goal in life is to make premade scrapbooking pages that others can use to help finish those scrapbook ablums. Spend your time on those precious layouts that matter the most and especially on creating those fabulous memories in the first place!

Use my premade scrapbook pages today! They are F.R.E.E!!

  5. Here’s a link to my take on this sketch. I loved this one because I always have a ton of photos to work with. I actually have a hard time using less photos. Anyways, I group the photos together on my layout much like the one above but took it a step further and organized them into a sort of collage.
    Here is the sketch:

Been catching up on a lot of photos lately that I haven’t scrapbooked with and just want to say thank you for the weekly challenges because when I get stuck I just come here and look at sketch new and old to get me going. Thanks for the inspiration!
