Get a jump on your holiday cardmaking!

Kelly Rasmussen:┬áThe holidays will be here before you know it, so today I’ve got a couple cards to share that might give you some inspiration to get a jump start on those holiday cards.

This first card features one of the gorgeous stitched brads from the Evergreen Mixed Brads pack. The leaf branches are from the Merry & Bright Holidays clear stamp set and covered in Rock Candy Distress Stickers.

I wanted to keep the card light and airy, so I created a subtle blue watercolor background and then white heat embossed my sentiment on vellum. And a scattering of some red Candy Buttons ended up being the perfect finishing touch!

The next card also features a brad from the Evergreen Mixed Brads pack — I love the dimension they add to a card!

I stamped a mix of sentiments from the Merry & Bright Holidays and Peace & Joy Christmas clear stamp sets onto one of the Chalkboard Wood Tags and white heat embossed them. The wood gets very hot though, so be careful not to burn yourself. I held mine with a tweezers while I embossed the message to keep my fingers out of the way.

Since the brads make these cards pretty thick I would put them in a padded envelope to mail. But I hand deliver a lot of gifts over the holidays, so cards like these are perfect to stick in gift bags.
