Eye Spy : Piali Biswas

sending hugs

When taking a peek at our flickr pool this week, this one stopped us in our tracks even at thumbnail size!  With just one floral stamp from our new Plumeria collection, Piali created this amazing layered card.  Whoever receives this creation will likely think they’ve received Spring in an envelope!

Piali – Congratulations on being selected as our Eye Spy feature this week! We’ll be sending you some BasicGrey product your way as our way of saying thanks.

Have a project you think we should see and that you’d like to share with other BG fans? Upload it to our flickr pool and you might just find your work on our blog! Be sure to note what BasicGrey products you used when uploading.

March 2012 flickr Friends Reveal : Purple

It’s hard to believe that the end of the month is already here and with it, we have another round of flickr Friends to reveal!

Each month, we provide a theme for you to use on your projects and then upload to our flickr pool. At the end of each month, we select a few of our favorites to post here on our blog and send them some BasjcGrey goodies as our way of saying thanks.

The theme for this month is “purple” and was inspired by our Plumeria collection which has started to hit store shelves.  There are many shades of purple, lavender and violet within this collection which are perfect for almost any project you have in mind.

Without further ado, some of our favorites from our flickr pool using this month’s theme :

The simple technique Tina used on this card creates maximum effect.  By simply spacing the small white blocks she stamped her image on apart from one another, the image has more visual impact than had she left them together.

Many people find creating layout with older photos difficult clearly that isn’t the case with Jodie!  We love how she paired purple with the warm gold tones in her photo creating a timeless family keepsake.

Using one of our older collections, Green At Heart, Martha was able to put together a card with a beautiful color scheme and major wow factor.  We love the gorgeous stamping paired with that large bow!

A BIG thank you to all of you who uploaded your projects – we love being able to feature your work here on the BG blog.  Winners keep an eye on your flickr mail as we’ll be in touch shortly to arrange your prizes.  Look for April’s theme to be posted on Tuesday!

Weekly Challenge : Go Large

My A | Pamela Young

THIS WEEK’S CHALLENGE : Go Large.

As we’ll be posting our flickr Friend challenge winners for this month tomorrow, we’re posting our last weekly challenge for March a day early.

This week, I’ve asked our BasicGrey design team member Pamela Young to participate in our challenge.  Feel free to interpret this week’s challenge however you’d like!

Pamela notes, ”I cut a bunch of large diamonds and created a fun background using the awesome new PB&J collection.  Then I also added that fun large flower!  I really just had a bit of fun with this layout…and isn’t that what this hobby is supposed to be…fun?”

We can’t wait to see what you create for this week’s challenge! Leave a comment below with a link to your project and we’ll select one commenter at random to receive a collection pack of your choice. Comment must be posted by April 5, 2012 at 11:59p MST.

If you upload your layout to your blog or online gallery, be sure to also upload it to our new BasicGrey flickr page so that other BG fans can find your work easily.

BasicGrey To Go : Memory Jars

Memory Jars | Kim Jeffress

I absolutely love the itty pieces on the layered stickers sheet from the Picadilly line. They are so sweet. I wanted to create a memory jar set for a little friend of my son’s and the layered stickers were perfect for creating my project.  I found a sweet photo of the two of them and I went ahead and played.
