Happy Monday! We hope that your Thanksgiving weekend was wonderfully fulfilling. This week, we are officially kicking off the holiday season by focusing on CARDS!
First up is a card I made by pairing 25th & Pine Snippets with a handful of Persimmon paper and embellishments. Not only do Snippets work beautifully in Capture page protectors, but they are the perfect size for cards as well! I chose the “Be Merry” and “Have a Holly Jolly Christmas” pieces to use as my focal points, and added the scalloped red border from a different Snippet to bring in a fun pop of red.
Whenever I set out to create, I always try to bring in as many colors of the rainbow as possible. Lucky for me, the hues found in Persimmon and 25th & Pine complement each other so well, it didn’t take very long to pull this card together!
Marcy: We recently had a little family photo shoot so I immediately thought of using a photo from that on a page about gratitude. My son set up this shoot (the Darth Vader mask was his idea) and I’m totally in love with it!
I started by layering patterned papers and cards from the Waterfall Packs behind my photo. The tall, narrow days of the week inserts for the Capture albums add interest to the otherwise rectangular layers.
I added a larger base of patterned paper to span the majority of the width of the page. At the last moment I decided to add that library pocket for my journaling.
I had originally planned on stamping a background with that speech bubble stamp from the Give Credit set… but the inclusion of that pocket changed that. I trimmed out some of the speech bubbles instead and scatter then down the left side of my page. I added some of my journaling to them as well as a little “give thank” turkey die-cut from the Persimmon waterfall pack.
Good morning! Today I’m sharing another page from my Capture album that I add to on a weekly basis. I am still in the process of documenting my honeymoon using the 3 x 3″ divided page protectors for each of the four cities that my husband and I visited on our trip.
Similar to last week, I used some of my favorite Fresh Cut embellishments and the new neon-hued Candy Buttons, in addition to a journaling spot from the Persimmon Waterfall pack. For my photo captions, I quickly composed a few short lines in an Illustrator document and then cut them down to size and glued them directly atop my photos. Maintaining the same format for each of my honeymoon destinations makes the creative process so much easier since I have more freedom to experiment within the preset grid!
